Frank Ocean hit Los Angeles on Tuesday night (July 17), performing the fourth show on his Channel Orange tour. Rap-Up caught the concert and reports that Ocean’s OFWGKTA brethren came out to support him in addition to Drake, through an hour-plus set that found the 24-year-old covering Beyonce, who applauded him for coming out and being ‘brave’.

According to Rap-Up, Ocean started the night off with Prince’s “When You Were Mine,” and later told the crowd that he had penned both of his albums in the city.

In addition to running through already classic material from his 2011 release Nostalgia, Ultra and treating fans to new tracks from Channel Orange, Ocean covered “I Miss You,” which he co-wrote for Beyonce’s recent album 4. Earl Sweatshirt also joined him on stage for their Channel Orange collaboration “Super Rich Kids.”

Ocean released his Def Jam debut a week early, surprising fans, but its paid off well. Though he was bested by grits-and-gravy rocker Zac Brown’s Uncaged album, which debuted at #1 on sales of 234,000, Ocean’s Orange hit #2 with 131,000 in digital sales, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. The physical copy of the disc hit stores on Tuesday, so it’s possible that he could have another big week in his second frame.
