Tiki Torch Carrying White Nationalist Cornballs Clash With Protesters At UVA

A group of white nationalists armed with cheap tiki torches and towering mugs of white privilege converged on the city of Charlottesville in Virginia ahead of a planned event on Friday. The Unite The Right rally, which was slated to take place in the city Saturday, was preceded by a number of ongoing clashes between nationalists and counter-protestors.

NBC News writes:

Altercations erupted Saturday morning and at least two people were hurt as white nationalists and counter-protesters violently clashed in Charlottesville, Virginia, where local police and the governor declared a state of emergency.

Supporters of the “Unite the Right” rally descended again on the city’s downtown in opposition to clergy members and other groups, who stood in a line singing, “This Little Light of Mine,” to drown out the profanity and slurs.

“Love has already won. We have already won,” the counter-protesters responded.

But as the violence intensified with shoving and punching, demonstrators covered their mouths after what appeared to be tear gas was released into the crowd.

The city and Albemarle County both issued a “declaration of local emergency” for the two jurisdictions to request additional resources. Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe also declared a state of emergency to allow for a response to quell the violence.

MSNBC just said in a live report that the Unite The Right rally has been canceled due to the clashing in the streets. Some of the fights took hold on the campus of the University of Virginia as well, with figures such as Dr. Cornel West among the throng shouting down the rally’s intent.

As this story develops, we will provide updates. See below and the following pages to some of the reaction. So far, it looks like the Nazi Parade is unraveling although some of the supremacists are reportedly pulling weapons on people when confronted.

Charlamagne Tha God & Stephen A. Smith Clash Over Colin Kaepernick

Charlamagne Tha God made his first appearance on ESPN’s First Take this week and went to verbal blows with show co-host Stephen A. Smith over Colin Kaepernick. At issue was Smith’s criticism of Kaepernick’s protest because the NFL quarterback didn’t vote in the past election to which the radio host took umbrage with.

After First Take moderator Molly Qerim took notice of Charlamagne’s Colin Kaepernick shirt, he quickly mentioned that’s why he gave Smith one of his infamous “Donkey Of The Day” awards over the Smith’s criticism. Charlamagne was then confronted over the “Donkey” designation, to which Smith replied at length that Kaepernick’s decision to not vote didn’t irk him but the fact he publicized the fact did.

While it appeared there was some shifting of the goal posts on the point, the debate ended amicably with Charlamagne inviting Smith to The Breakfast Club so the pair can really chop it up over their differences. Smith also gave high praise to Charlamagne’s new book, Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes To Those Who Create It.

Check out the debate between Charlamagne Tha God and Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take in the clip below. Do you agree with either stance? Sound off in the comments if so.

MVP clash: Thunder, Rockets set for 1st-round playoff battle

Who is the real MVP? James Harden or Russell Westbrook?

The Houston Rockets will face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the No. 3 seed vs. No. 6 seed playoff series in the Western Conference. A win by the Los Angeles Clippers over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday clinched the fifth seed, thus locking OKC into the sixth slot.

Harden and Westbrook are the leading candidates of the most competitive MVP award race in recent memory. Votes will be cast before the playoffs begin since MVP is a regular-season award, thus setting up a potentially awkward finish depending on how the postseason shakes out.

The two teams are diametric opposites in terms of style. Harden runs a high-octane Rockets offense predicated on pace and space, while OKC counters with a physical brand of defense and the boundless energy and athleticism of Westbrook.

Houston won the season series 3-1, but three of the games were decided by three points or less.

Funkmaster Flex & Bow Wow Clash Again Online; Flex Calls Out Internet Rappers

(AllHipHop News) Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex and rapper/actor Shad “Bow Wow” Moss still do not seem to be on good terms.

The two entertainers had issues last year after Bow Wow had a problem with an article on Flex’s website.

Flex reignited the feud with a tweet that read, “FYI- Bowwow is F-cking finished out here! FACTS! His records is trash! Basura!”

Bow fired back by posting a Twitter poll asking his followers, “Are New Yorkers tired of funk flex on [Hot 97]?”

The former CSI: Cyber star then added a separate tweet, “Only DJ at 6pm in NYC i acknowledge is [DJ Clue].”

Funk Flex did not stop with Bow Wow.

The disc jockey also questioned the current relevancy of “internet rappers” Trinidad James, Azealia Banks, Earl Sweatshirt, iLoveMakonnen, and Tyler, The Creator.

Tara Reid & Jenny McCarthy Clash Over Boobs, Sharknado

Well, okay then.

That sure escalated quickly.

One day after Teresa Giudice peaced out of an interview with Access Hollywood Live, Tara Reid arrived to the set of Jenny McCarthy's SiriusXM radio show…

… and then left very early herself after getting into it with the host.

Reid was apparently under the impression that the Q&A would focus solely on her upcoming role in Sharknado 4.

But the chat kicked off with McCarthy complimenting the 40-year-old actress for her appearances on the WE tv reality series, Marriage Boot Camp.

"I f–king love you on that show, but are you glad you did it?" she asked.

The question seemed to have struck a nerve with Reid.

"It's not worth the time to talk about," she replied, following that up after McCarthy posed another question about Marriage Boot Camp with:

"Please let's not talk about this show. We're all here about Sharknado."

Okay, McCarthy agreed… did Reid after get into shape for her ongoing role in the franchise?

"It's not like you really need to get into shape. It's Sharknado. They're fake sharks," she said.

McCarthy then attempted to clarify her question, explaining how Reid might have felt inclined to hit the gym to get into "muscle shape."

Aside from weekly yoga, Reid said she did "nothing crazy, nothing strenuous."

"People talked about your surgeries before. Are you still going through surgeries or are you past them?" McCarthy proceeded to ask, referring to Reid's penchant for plastic surgery.

"No, I haven't had any surgery for awhile, Jenny," Reid answered.

So, nothing else is planned on that front, Tara?

"I think I've made that clear about 100 times," Tara shot back. "Maybe you only read the bad things, but I've made that really clear for so many years."

It got worse from there, as Reid sarcastically wished McCarthy luck upon getting up and leaving.

"Good luck to you, too, and I'm so excited about Sharknado and I hope you stay married," McCarthy responded. "I hope your knees get a little wobblier than they already are."

"I hope your tits get even nicer, because they're amazing. The same guy who did mine, right?" Reid quipped in response. "I'll always use your advice. You're the best. Bye."

Listen to snippets of the awkward segment below and then choose a side: Team Jenny or Team Tara?

(UPDATE: A rep for Tara Reid tells E! News:

"Tara is a positive person who is against women tearing each other down. She was bullied on Jenny's and felt ambushed when she came into the show with a positive spirit and in a happy mood. It was very unfortunate how Jenny shifted the conversation for her personal gain when the whole focus should be on Sharknado 4.")
