Killer Mike Nervous Rocking At Austin City Lights Festival After Las Vegas

Killer Mike voiced a concern many musicians are certainly wrestling with in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting massacre earlier this week. Ahead of the Run The Jewels performance at the Austin City Lights Festival in Texas, the Atlanta rapper expressed his thoughts about performing in the wide-open venue while being concerned for the safety of concertgoers but vowed to rock the house despite it all.

TMZ reports:

Killer Mike concedes he’s got the jitters about his headlining gig, being a husband and a father, but he’s going to power through his performance Sunday night. He also says he understands … some, possibly many would-be festivalgoers are going to stay away, and he can’t blame them.

That said, we’re told law enforcement will blanket the area around Zilker Park. In addition to patrols on foot, bike, car and ATV, the Counter Assault Strike Team will be out in force.

The first weekend of the festival kicked off last Friday. Check out the rest of lineup by following this link. Mike and his RTJ partner El-P take the stage on Sunday (Oct. 8).

Gun control will be the topic of the week after 20 innocent people’s lives have come to a violent end.

The shooter is said to be dead, but the police are actively searching for a woman named Marilou Danley who is described as 4’11” and 111 pounds.

Says Las Vegas sheriff Joseph Lombardo:

“We have not located her at this time and we are interested in talking to her”

The shooting has also put a Las Vegas police officer in critical condition.

Prayers up for the families and friends of the dead and injured. This is insane, infuriating and heartbreaking.

Stevie Wonder Takes Knee “For America” At Global Citizen Festival [VIDEO]

Stevie Wonder is still not one to cower while facing injustice. Yesterday (Sept. 23), the music legend and icon took a knee during his headlining set at the Global Citizen Festival in NYC.

Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard about Donald Trump insulting NFL players for taking a knee during the National Anthem to protest racial injustice.

While on stage, the “Superstition” singer said “Tonight, I’m taking a knee for America” as he got down on one knee.

But then he got down on both, adding, “I’m taking both knees. Both knees in prayer for our planet, our future, our leaders of the world, and our globe, Amen. I wanted to say that prayer before I serve you my musical meal.”

Stevie Wonder is a national treasure, he must be protected at all costs.

Because, well, they are. Dogs love us unconditionally, greeting us when we arrive home with happy, wagging tails. They are there when […]

Vince Carter documentary to premiere at Toronto film festival

Air Canada is coming home to share his story where it all began.

"The Carter Effect," a documentary by Sean Menard about former Toronto Raptors icon Vince Carter, will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs from Sept. 7-17.

Carter played a monumental role in establishing the popularity of basketball in Toronto and the rest of Canada. The high-flying eight-time All-Star put the Raptors on the map and shifted the culture from being an obscure expansion franchise to a playoff contender led by arguably the best in-game dunker of all-time.

Although his seven seasons in Toronto ended with an ugly split, Carter was one of basketball's brightest stars and his presence helped foster a generational boon in Canadian basketball. He's widely credited as an inspiration for Canadian players like Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph, Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Olynyk, and Jamal Murray.
