Hold Up: Billionaire Elon Musk Plans To Land Humans On Mars By 2024 With The Aim Of Building A Colony!

Humans could travel to Mars as early as 2024 with the aim of building a colony on the red planet, Elon Musk has claimed. Musk’s space exploration company SpaceX has laid out ambitious plans to establish a base on Mars after it unveiled a reusable rocket that it said could travel at speeds of up to 27,000 kilometres per hour (16,777 mph). SpaceX said it would be able to establish a base on the moon and fly two cargo missions to Mars in 2022 that would be able to find water and place power and life support infrastructure. The first human travellers would depart in 2024, where they would be able to set up a solar-powered plant that would produce propellant to return them to earth. Crucially, the rockets would land vertically, meaning they can be re-used for other missions. Posted By Persist

Dodgers hold off Giants to snap 11-game losing streak

Fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers can breathe a heavy sigh of relief.

Backed by ace Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers put an end to their worst stretch since moving from Brooklyn, snapping an 11-game losing streak by defeating the San Francisco Giants 5-3 in a nail-biter on Tuesday.

Before putting an end to the streak, the Dodgers had lost 16 of their past 17 contests as their lead atop the National League was trimmed to only 3 1/2 games courtesy of the Washington Nationals. Amazingly, their 93 wins still lead all of baseball.

Though the aforementioned Kershaw wasn’t his usual dominant self, he pitched well enough to earn the win, pacing the Dodgers throughout the game. Despite allowing eight hits, Kershaw churned out six solid innings, striking out six batters and allowing only one earned run.

Offensively, the Dodgers saw clutch contributions from Yasiel Puig, who had two RBIs thanks to a pair of doubles. Chase Utley hit a solo home run, his eighth of the season, while Justin Turner provided insurance late with an RBI double of his own.

Kenley Jansen was able to shut the door by recording a four-out save, only his third since August 25.

Had the outcome gone differently, the Dodgers would have tied the 1925 Brooklyn team who lost 12 straight that year. The longest losing streak in history belongs to the 1944 Brooklyn Dodgers, who failed to win in 16-straight games.

Yu Darvish will take on Matt Moore in the finale on Wednesday. The Dodgers will then travel to Washington for a crucial and highly anticipated three-game series.

Broncos block Chargers’ game-tying FG attempt to hold on for narrow win

The Denver Broncos survived by the narrowest of margins for a 24-21 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.

Los Angeles led a valiant fourth-quarter comeback attempt, roaring back from a 24-7 deficit on a pair of touchdowns from Philip Rivers.

With the game on the line, Younghoe Koo’s 44-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Broncos defensive end Shelby Harris, preserving the win. Harris signed with the Broncos on a reserve/future contract in January, joining his fourth team in as many years.

“Shelby has earned his way,” Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said post-game to Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post.

The Broncos took command of the game from the outset, led by a stellar performance from Trevor Siemian. Siemian finished 17-of-28 for 219 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Rivers went 22-of-33 for 192 yards, three touchdowns and an interception while orchestrating the rally that fell one play short.

Hall of Fame LB Ham raves about Bell, says Elliott ‘can’t hold his jock’

Count Hall of Fame outside linebacker Jack Ham in the camp that believes Le’Veon Bell to be the NFL’s premier running back.

Ham starred for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1971-82, earning six first-team All-Pro selections, Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1975, and helping the club win four Super Bowls.

Ahead of the upcoming season, Ham raved about Bell, while taking shots at Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

“Bell is the best route runner I have seen for a running back in a long time,” Ham said to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

"(Elliott) can't hold his jock as a receiver or route runner. Running a flare out of the backfield is not running a route. There's a huge difference. Elliott is a flare guy, not a route runner. Bell understands this. He didn't do that at Michigan State. They didn't use him like that. Here they found out he was such a good receiver. It's a big weapon when he's in there."

Bell, Elliott, and Arizona Cardinals star David Johnson are widely considered to be the NFL's premier running backs, but the Steelers' star enters the season as the highest-paid player at this position by a wide margin.

The Steelers likely hope Ham’s endorsement goes along way with Bell and wide receiver Antonio Brown operating as the fulcrums of the team’s offense.

Does Joran Van Der Sloot’s Alleged Same Sex Lover Hold The Key To What Happened To Natalee Holloway?

Man Who Broke New Leads In Natalee Holloway Had Sexual Relationship With Joran Van Der Sloot

Just when we thought the stories about Joran Van Der Sloot couldn’t get any MORE strange… The Oxygen series “The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway” is shed new light on the case of Holloway, who disappeared after a class trip to Aruba in 2005, during the latest episode Saturday. The third part of a six-part series told how Holloway’s dug up remains were mixed with dog bones to help camouflage that they were human, then taken to a crematory to be turned to ash for $ 200 and scattered off the coast of Aruba.

Via People Magazine:

Joran van der Sloot, the longtime suspect in Natalee’s disappearance, allegedly had sexual relations with the man who says he allegedly accepted $ 1,500 from Van der Sloot to dig up Natalee’s remains, according to that man’s account during a recorded undercover sting operation in the case, the episode reveals.

That February 2016 sting was set up by Natalee’s father Dave Holloway and his private investigator, T.J. Ward. It relied on an informant named Gabriel, who told Holloway and Ward he knew the man who claimed to have carried out Van der Sloot’s request to move Natalee’s buried remains in a moment of panic.

Natalee, 18, vanished May 30, 2005, after leaving a bar in Aruba on the final night of a high school graduation trip. Gabriel said the man revealed to him that Van der Sloot — who is serving time in Peru on an unrelated murder — gave Natalee the date-rape drug GHB, and that she later choked on her own vomit.

Super sad. We can still remember this tragedy like it happened yesterday.

The sting — recorded in a New Orleans hotel room by Ward’s team using hidden cameras and audio — involved Gabriel talking with the man, who is shown discussing his friendship in Aruba with Van der Sloot, a Dutch national.

“Yeah, I was a little obsessed with him,” says the man. “We used to hook up with girls all the time and go out partying and gambling and stuff, and then one night we were having a threesome …. The problem was, the girl finished before us and passed the f— out, cause we were all drunk as s—.”

“So then he’s like, um, ‘Don’t worry, just turn off the lights, this is how we do it in Europe.’ I’m like, ‘This ain’t no Brokeback Mountain s— going down.’ He’s like, ‘Just shut up, it’ll all be over soon.’ After that there wasn’t no hesitation. We were all team players after that, getting each other off.”

Yeah that Van der Sloot is a wild boy… That’s for sure.

The man alleges Joran ultimately offered $ 1500 for him to dig up Holloway’s remains after narrowing down the exact location. This allegedly happened in the spring of 2010, around the time Van der Sloot sent emails to John Q. Kelly, the lawyer for Natalee’s mother Beth asking for money in exchange for information about Natalee. Joran ultimately took $ 25K before telling Kelly he had no information. He was hit with federal extortion charges in the US which remain pending until after he completes his 28-year sentence in a Peruvian jail for killing Stephany Flores in 2010, just five years to the day after Natalee’s disappearance.
