Ancient ‘Nukes’ Powerful Ancient Weapons Described In Thousand-Year-Old Texts

Ancient texts describe powerful weapons that the gods used on Earth thousands—even perhaps tens of thousands—of years ago. “…An incandescent column of smoke and flame, as bright as ten thousand suns, rose in all its splendor. It was an unknown weapon and iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death, which reduced to ashes the entire race…” When we take […]

Watch: Footage shows Adolphus Washington’s weapons arrest

Warning: Video contains coarse language

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Adolphus Washington was arrested Sunday in Ohio for improperly carrying a concealed weapon, and TMZ Sports obtained footage of the arrest.

In the video, an officer is heard telling Washington, "You don't know how lucky you are, man. That was close, buddy. That was very close."

Washington had a gun in his hand when he was surrounded by officers.

“Why in the hell would you have that gun in your hand when we come stand right in front of you? What would you be thinking?” an officer asks.

“No. I wasn’t reaching for it. I was putting it away. I already had it in my hand,” Washington said.

Rockets GM: ‘You’re either in the weapons race or on the sidelines’

The Houston Rockets are just trying to keep pace with how the league is going.

Superteams have dominated the landscape over the last decade, so Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has always been focused on recruiting stars. He added Chris Paul on Wednesday to go with James Harden, and Morey's aim is to add a third star before the summer is over.

Morey makes no apologies about his strategy.

"It's a weapons race in the NBA," Morey said after the Paul trade. "You're either in the weapons race or on the sidelines.

“We felt like this is, with James Harden in his prime and Chris Paul in his prime, this gives us a real shot to chase the juggernaut teams that are out there. It puts us right there with them.”

The juggernaut team Morey referenced is almost certainly the Golden State Warriors, who stacked four All-Stars to comprise a historically dominant squad. The formation of such an overpowered roster spawned criticism that the Warriors had ruined competitive balance in the NBA.

However, as Morey argues, the goal for every team is the same. Recruiting the best players makes for the best teams, and the Rockets and Warriors are trying to build the best teams possible under the rules of the league. Others can stick their heads in the sand and argue that it's unfair, but they'll only be left behind.

Bucs use draft to load Winston up with dazzling array of weapons

If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fail to make the playoffs for the third straight season under Jameis Winston, the former No. 1 overall pick will have nobody but himself to blame.

As the first three rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft showed, the team has made a conscious decision to surround their franchise quarterback with a full arsenal of offensive weapons.

After a solid rookie season, Bucs fans and the team's front office certainly expected another jump in his sophomore campaign. While Winston posted decent numbers, they were almost identical to his first season at the helm.

Stat 2015 2016
Passing yards 4042 4090
Completion percentage 58.3 60.8
Yards per attempt 7.56 7.21
Touchdowns 22 28
Interceptions 15 18
Rating 84.5 86.1

It's clear the team's brass had one goal as they headed into the offseason: Surround Winston with a rich buffet of talent that is arguably the best in the league.

It began with the signing of the league's premier deep threat, DeSean Jackson, to partner with the athletic specimen that is Mike Evans. Jackson's signing instantly gave the Bucs one of the top receiving duos in the league, and one that should dominate the questionable secondaries throughout the NFC South.

With Jackson signed, many figured the Bucs would address a different area of need at the draft, but the team kept stocking the cupboard, adding Alabama tight end O.J. Howard in the first round, and standout Penn State receiver Chris Godwin in the third round.

Howard is one of those freakish tight ends who runs like a receiver, but blocks like a linebacker, after his career in Nick Saban’s system at Alabama. Here he is blowing by the Clemson defense in last season’s national championship game:

Godwin is arguably the best jump-ball receiver in this year's draft, as shown in last season's game against Ohio State. The defensive back he victimized? That's the Oakland Raiders' first-round pick from Thursday, Gareon Conley.

Evans, Jackson, Howard, and Godwin join running back Doug Martin to form a quintet of trouble for opposing defenses heading into the 2017 season. It all comes down to Winston to take advantage of the talent around him to make the jump from solid quarterback to elite.
